The 10 mM dNTP Mix is a solution of high purity deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates that has been functionally qualified for real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR). It is suitable for use in conventional end-point PCR, real-time qPCR, first-strand cDNA synthesis, as well as other applications that require dNTP as substrate.
We have found that dNTP quality and purity can directly affect dynamic range, sensitivity and precision of qPCR assays. Surprisingly, dNTP preparations that fail our qPCR functional testing are often >99% triphosphate purity by HPLC analysis and function perfectly well in conventional end-point PCR assays, including amplification of long (up 20 kb) templates. The use of qPCR certified dNTPs is a simple but important measure to ensure consistent assay performance.
